The Citizen-Art, a group of artists based in Grenoble, France will be holding a poetry contest for spring 2011. The winners will receive a publication right throughout France and I will be presenting the prefaces for the books (I thank my friend - the director of Citizen-Art, Jean-Marc Legrand for this great opportunity).

All poems must be in French and unpublished however the contest is open for all nations at all ages.

So why not give yourself a try?

I have received this poem from a French poet Yannis who I performed with in Autumn in France. It was demonstrated as an introduction of me instead of a speech at the beginning of our show. His poetry has a style called slam and the rhyme of words is the heart of it. Although he is wild-looking, he is a charming and gentle person and there is a such contrast in his poetry too -the extroverted rhythms and introverted poésie. What I like most about slam is that it desires to be voiced. So and then, poetry becomes a music.
